This cassette product and its accompanying packaging was produced entirely with objects found in the home of Will Black, Executive Director of Gadgetto. When combined, the dead media formats assembled here from a variety of unrelated sources are given a new context and a new life as an introduction to Gadgetto. The Home Sampler is free of production costs, is given free of charge to those who have been particularly supportive of Gadgetto in recent years, and is free of restrictions in its duplication and distribution.

The Ibtac Orchestrion v2.0 (see: Tentatively, a Convenience) is the most important invention in the line of found object mobile Orchestrions. By means of a cassette player fitted with a custom one-in/three-out audio cable, audio sampling systems are fed an infinite and unregulated source signal. These signals, fashioned into loops at random and without monitoring, are shunted directly to the simple mixer found in every Ibtac Orchestrion and from there to the audio amplification device of the listener's choice: this includes broadcast via built-in FM transmitter or home stereo system. The Ibtac Orchestrion is made from wires, a suitcase, Erector Set screws and nuts, a cutting board, nylon wire ties, etc. No single component of the Ibtac cost more than twenty United States dollars (circa 1980-1990 values) yet the complete Orchestrion is valued at several thousand dollars and is indestructible. The Ibtac Orchestrion is simple and strong, therefore not apt to get out of order easily. Complete stock of non-stop tunes always on hand (Home Sampler references Hoagy Carmichel, solenoid and R. Buckminster Fuller). Notice: First Prize was awarded to the Ibtac at several recent evaluation sessions within the Pacific Northwestern division of North America.

Gadgetto has a united grand scheme for the future of the Ibtac: to be powered entirely by rechargeable batteries. The systems presented by the Home Sampler, therefore, should not be considered the final representation of what the Ibtac has to offer. Likewise, Gadgetto has a united grand scheme for mobilization, symbolization and distribution of the unique goods and services that only Gadgetto is capable of providing. "It is my greatest hopes for humanity and my greatest fears about myself," said Will Black at one of his recent regular press conferences. By making the public aware through example that the 'do it yourself' ethic of our Cold War ancestors can readily apply to this, the Space Age, Gadgetto hopes to inspire not a generation of engineers but a generation unafraid of industry and science. Saluting technology as the friendly servant of each man, woman and child in Factory Earth: this and nothing less is the mission of Gadgetto.
